And we’re back!
Before we get down to it, I want to take a quick second to explain why I haven’t sent one of these newsletters out in the past couple of weeks.
Frankly: the world didn’t need to hear my thoughts for those few weeks.
When I dedicate myself to writing tech, I stick to what is known in journalism circles as “fluff pieces”. This means that what I usually write isn’t meant to save lives or vastly improve your day-to-day. This endeavor was started as a way to entertain and inform, and will remain that way. But with the protests continuing, calling for justice for centuries of systemic oppression, I could not bring myself to write fluff pieces when I already stand in a place of privilege.
I’ve returned to making these newsletters and blogs, but it comes with this simple message:
Black Lives Matter. Police forces should be defunded and budgets should be reallocated to promote equality and justice in oppressed communities. I am not going to abuse my platform, and I will shut up when I should, so others can be heard.
I ask that you all join me in donating to Black Lives Matter and ACLU so we can bring justice to so many of our friends, neighbors, family, lovers, and even strangers, who have been oppressed.
Thanks, all.
Will Smart Glasses Be Where Tech and Healthcare Meet?

Rumors have begun to float around about Apple’s next “innovation”: smart glasses. As a four-eyed being, the prospect of having smart glasses hits that high coolness factor, yet the realist in me has some important questions to ask before buying a pair, like: “Will my insurance pay for it?” This is an article I did on behalf of an optometry client. The subject matter was very fitting.
The Things You Need To Know
There’s still a hell of a lot going on right now. Protests and pandemics aren’t how anyone envisioned summer to start. Remember to wear a mask and socially distance when you protest. And please stay safe.
After initially postponing their event, Sony finally unveiled the PlayStation 5, with 4K graphics, ray tracing, a custom built SSD, and a variety of other features as futuristic as its case. But one thing is missing… the price tag. If I were a gambling human, I’d bet Sony is waiting for Xbox’s event in July. As soon as the Xbox announces the Series X price, Sony will (as usual), undercut it by $100. So Xbox should list their new console for $200. That’s big brain energy.
WWDC is coming! June 22, Apple will host an entire week of totally online courses for their annual WWDC. The week will kick off with their software announcements for iOS14, iPadOS14, macOS Blank, watchOS 7, and tvOS14.
Go donate.
